Bouquet of the Week
June 9, 2016
Sunflowers, Dianthus, Larkspur, Buplerum, Saponaria
Sunflowers and Asiatic Lilies
Sunflower season has begun here on the farm, a sure sign that summer is here to stay. We'll have sunflowers for sale at the market this Saturday as well as our first crop of bright orange asiatic lillies.
While sunflowers and lilies will be the featured flowers this weekend, we'll have a wide range of spring and summer flowers available this week, from tall, stately spires of larkspur to brightly colored, sweet-smelling dianthus and snapdragons.
This period of time when sunflowers overlap with the spring fillers doesn't last for long. Soon the light and airy larkspur, bupleurum and saponaria will be replaced by more bold and substantial summer flowers.
Summer is a rich and abundant time at the farmers market. We hope to see you there!
