Bouquet of the Week
July 28, 2017
Zinnias, Oriental Lilies, Rudbeckia triloba, Lisianthus
If you were an early bird at the market last week, you may have gotten a glimpse of our first cockscomb celosias of the season. You may have even taken a bunch home with you!
Celosias are a mainstay of the late summer on our farm. From late July until the first frost ends our season in October, the vivid colors and unusual form of celosias brighten our mixed bouquets and bunches.
We sell pink, orange, and red cockscombs. They're very long-lasting cut flowers with colors so intense they almost seem to glow! They have an incredible velvety texture and a crazy crinkled form like a monkey's brain. Adults and kids alike are drawn to reach out and touch these strange, otherworldly flowers.
We've got a beautiful selection of fresh cut sunflowers, zinnias, lilies, lisianthus, celosias, rudbeckia, mountain mint, ageratum and more local specialty cut flowers to bring to the Bardstown Road Farmers Market this Saturday from 8am - 12noon.
Hope to see you there!
